WORK
Systems I've built, and what they do.
I've run service businesses, and I build the software that runs them. Here is each system: the problem it handles, how the work flows through it, what I did, and where it stands today.
01 / BUILT AND RUNNING
Built and running
Two systems built inside service businesses I owned, and two that run Squared Away itself. Every number on these pages comes from the system itself or the business's own records.
-
FIELD SERVICE / OPERATIONS
One app that runs a field-service business
Online booking, the office, a technician app and the pages a customer opens by link, built for Aeris Dryer Vent Cleaning in Florida and live since October 2026.
-
HOME SERVICE / CUSTOMER JOURNEY
Off-the-shelf tools, stitched into one customer journey
Dryer Vent Pros in Toronto ran on a CRM, a booking tool and invoicing joined together: more than 380 customers in about a year, and where it hit its limits.
-
MARKETING / AI IN PRODUCTION
AI that researches, writes and checks a blog post, then waits for a yes
Three posts a week, every link and quoted source checked, then published and posted to three platforms with one tap.
-
SALES / CRM
A sales system that has ten calls ready every morning
21,474 local businesses, each checked for a website of its own, and a call list that fills itself before the day starts.
02 / BUILT, IN TESTING
Built, and in testing
Finished and tested, and not yet running for a client. Each page says exactly where it stands.
-
SCHEDULING / BOOKING
A booking system any business can put on its own website
Services, times, photos and the customer's address, with double bookings refused by the database, added to a website with one line of code.
-
PHONES / AI VOICE
An AI receptionist, put through 17 difficult test calls
Built from a business's own website, then tested on price pushback, an emergency, a sales call and a caller who speaks Spanish.
03 / ILLUSTRATIONS
How the same method fits other work
These two are illustrations, not client projects. The method is how we work; the businesses and numbers in them are made up to show it.
-
METHOD / DISCOVERY
Finding what to automate first, before buying more software
Map the work as it really moves, mark what should stay with a person, rank the rest by what it is worth, then build in stages.
-
CUSTOMER SERVICE / AI
An inbox that sorts itself, and hands you only what needs judgment
Messages read, sorted and answered from the business's own records, with anything unusual sent to a person.
